For Years now we at S & J have prided ourselves on our ability to tune not only the “Rebel Racers”, but also the Prestige Luxury machines that Subaru have so lovingly put together for us!

Once again we are backed up by the perfect combination of EcuTek and MRT Performance, who are both consistently at the forefront of development when it comes to packaging upgrade kits for each model as it emerges.

Liberty B4 Twin Turbo

A rare beauty, but not without its floors, the only two complaints we here about this model in standard trim are:

These two problems are rectified with an EcuTek type 2 re-map, not to mention the 30 kw extra all for $1775 including 4wd dyno tuning. From there as with their turbo cousins the B4 responds very well to exhaust and intercooler upgrades.
 

Liberty GT MY04-MY06

Even more refinement in regards to luxury, but now sporting the much talked about twin scroll turbo plus plastic intake plenum, electronic throttle and AVCS (active valve control system) on all 4 camshafts. This car is a real pleasure to tune, with such technology in electronics and engine hardware, incremental increases in boost combined with AVCS, fuel and ignition timing changes allow 30 kw extra, with improvements in fuel economy all part of the first upgrade package at $1775 including 4wd dyno tuning. Note that STI models respond just as well to these upgrades in both manual and Tip-tronic versions!

Liberty GT and GT spec B MY07

Here we have the much awaited and anticipated 2.5L version of the beautiful Liberty GT. The lack of extra kw from the 2.0L predecessor is made up for by torque, and in our case leaves un-tapped power. The all new “SI Drive” feature gives us some more power as tuners, the power to give the driver genuine “map switching” with distinct power and torque differences between the Sport & Sport Sharp modes. From factory Subaru have done a beautiful job of “sharpening” up the faster mode, but as you will see in the dyno graphs there is a very minimal kilowatt difference between the two at full throttle. A full EcuTek type 4 retune costs $1950 including 4wd dyno tuning and nets 20 kw on Sport with a 30 kw gain on Sport Sharp. As always fuel economy is a focus for us, and as a result we have seen as much as a 1.2L/100km improvement. Once again Tip-tronic and STI versions are no trouble at all.

The issues above are easily rectified with an EcuTek type 2 re-map, an extra 15kw through the mid range plus 10 in the top end are also appreciated by any enthusiast! Cost for all of this is $1775 including 4wd dyno tuning.
