EcuTeK Re-Mapped ECUs As accredited agents for EcuTeK, S&J can re-map your standard Subaru or Mitsubishi ECU for an instant performance improvement. We can provide a variety of mapping options depending upon your requirements.    
  NEWS: S&J Automotive have now been tuning WRXs, STIs, Foresters and Libertys with ECUTEK for over 8 years, and Turbo Lancers for 4 years. All tunes are carried out personally by the owner of the business, Sean, and the fact that he performs these day in day out, gives all clients piece of mind that he would be amongst only a very small group of people world wide that have had this much experience tuning factory ECUs for these models. 

What is EcuTeK?

EcuTeK is the remapping of the factory computer (ECU) available for a wide range of Subaru Turbo & Mitsubishi EVO and Ralliart models

Why do you remap the ECU?

To improve drivability, torque, power and fuel economy of your car. To make the most of each level of performance hardware upgrade reliably, and even tuning standard cars to unleash reserve potential. How is it done? With the ground breaking software that EcuTeK in the UK began developing back in 1999, and continue to do so with a team of 5 engineers, we are actually able retune the factory ECU with a lap top computer through the factory “OBD11” or “Can-Bus” ports so that it still works in entirely the same manner as the manufacturer designed it, with improved maps to suit your needs and/or modifications to your car.

What is a map?

An ECU has between 80 and 200 maps inside, most ECU maps have 2 axis with preset values at given load sites, only with EcuTeK do we have the ability to log, evaluated and make accurate changes to each value in each load site.

Why can EcuTeK and S&J achieve so much more than the factory?

  1. We have a one on one relationship with the owner, we can discuss fuel and tune to our South Australian conditions etc.

  2. We are not governed by strict international emission guidelines that were written for different parts of the world.

  3. By fine tuning each car we take out the negative effect of tolerance differences in a mass produced car.

  4. Subaru & Mitsubishi already have an awesome product that the consumer is generally satisfied with, they need not push it any more!

  • Sean plugs into no less than 4 late model turbo Subarus and Mitsubishis each day to tune, diagnose or just retrieve data.

We insist on using APE's State of the Art Dyno Cell because:

  • The logging and data retrieval from a single power run is incredible, and only limited by our needs for specific data e.g. Fuel pressure/flow, Inj Duty, Knock detection,  Pressure drops, plus much more can all be logged to a single power run.

  • We can actually link the EcuTek Tuning data to display within the power runs, for even more precise plotting & mapping.

  • They have the only IM240 (drive cycle) test equipment in SA that is linked to a Mainline Dyno, which has been incredibly useful.

  • The consistency, accuracy and trueness of all readings.

  • During a tune much more time is spent studying data than actually doing power runs.

  • Not many tunes take more than 4 of 8 second power runs in a very controlled environment (very low stress on your engine & driveline).

  • Limit lines and warnings within the dyno software assure you that, at no time is the engine put under extreme stress, e.g. too lean, hi boost etc.


Here is an example of a WRX that had an exhaust fitted, with minimal gains, then we used EcuTeK to finish the package!
